Preview: UHNW Institute 2025 Symposium – The Firm of the Future – The Toolkit in Action

The UHNW Institute has developed – and continues to develop – new ways to think about and manage clients’ complex private wealth and business needs. The New York City symposium will explore how these tools and approaches apply in real-world situations.

The ways in which advisors to ultra-wealthy families can better serve their clients and shape their own businesses will take center stage at The UHNW Institute Symposium 2025, held on November 17 and 18 in New York City.

The Symposium – The Firm of the Future: Living in the Real World – The Toolkit in Action â€“ will take place in Midtown.

“This year’s Symposium focuses on the real-world applications of the models the Institute has created, and how they can be used for the benefit of families and the advisors who serve them,” said Tom McCullough, a member of the Institute’s board of directors and Founder and Chairman of Northwood Family Office.

“The founding goal of the Institute was to bring clarity to ultra-high net worth families about how they could find their way through the maze to secure the advisors and services they needed – and to help improve the industry so it could most effectively meet those needs. We have made substantial progress each year in achieving those aims,” he continued.

The Symposium will open with an optional SFO Circle Clinic focused on policies and procedures every modern family office should adopt. Concurrently, an optional AI Clinic will be offered. These sessions will be followed by training that examines the Institute’s Ten Domains and its new AIM Framework™. The day will conclude with a welcome reception.

On November 18, the full-day program will feature a variety of sessions. It begins with an interactive session introducing the soon-to-be-launched Family Needs Assessment approach, based on the Institute’s Ten Domains. This will be followed by an exploration of the Institute’s proprietary resources and tools.

Wally Head, a board member, founding member of the Institute, and founder and principal of Personal Fiduciary Advisors, emphasized the breadth of the work the Institute has done to build tools and approaches for advisors and clients.

“The Institute’s Wealthesaurus©, AIM Framework™, and Advisory Business Models Grid are groundbreaking tools based on the Institute’s Ten Domains of Family Wealth©. These tools have been designed by experienced practitioners to help advisors better serve UHNW families’ complex wealth management needs,” Head said.

“They can also be used by UHNW families to help them select advisors with the capabilities and resources required to meet their unique wealth management needs.”

The day will continue with a panel examining “Real-World Service Delivery Models That Deliver Integrated Advice.” Another panel will explore “The Integration Spectrum: Key Decisions and Value Drivers in Practice.” Breakout sessions and a debrief will round out the day’s discussions.
